THE SESSION FEE RETAINER: WHAT IT IS & WHAT IT'S FOR

The session fee retainer secures your scheduled session date and time and covers the photographer’s time, talent, and preparation.

Your session fee retainer includes:

- Your reserved session date and time

- Professional expertise in posing, lighting, editing, and final image presentation

- Travel to outdoor session locations

- Access to all studio backdrops, props, and available client wardrobe

- Professional editing and detailed hand retouching

- Private online galleries for viewing and ordering

 

Only The Full Experiences require a session fee retainer.

The Petite Experiences are one cost, paid upfront.

THE SESSION TIME

Sessions will typically last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the type of session, except 3-4 hours for newborns. I like to use a laid-back approach, especially when dealing with children. Snacks, breaks & sillies are to be expected! There will be no 'rush-rush' to get the session done in an allotted time as I typically only book one session per day.

THE LOCATIONS

Leah Islinger Photography has a studio in downtown Little Chute, inside the Main Street Plaza. All newborn sessions are held in the studio, along with options for maternity, baby sessions, business portraits, and select small indoor family or senior sessions.

Most family, senior, and pet sessions are held on-location outdoors throughout Appleton and the surrounding areas. I can suggest a variety of locations to perfectly match the vision you have for your portraits, ensuring your session feels personal and unique.

THE CLOTHING

When it comes to portraits, simple clothing works best. Children look beautiful in bright colors, while soft, neutral tones offer a timeless and classic feel—it all depends on the look you want for your portraits. Most importantly, choose outfits that reflect who you are as a family. If something makes you think, “This is us,” don’t hesitate to include it!

Coordinating colors tend to photograph best in family portraits, though perfectly matching outfits are never required. Optional outfit changes can add variety and creativity to your session, giving you a wider range of final images.

My newborn photography style is a blend of wrapped poses and implied nude images, highlighting those sweet rolls and beautiful baby skin. I also love adding variety with an assortment of wraps and tiny outfits, all thoughtfully provided by the studio.

STARTING PRICE POINTS

The average client invests $550 - $1,400 in their custom photography with Leah Islinger Photography.

Gift prints start at $20, wall portraits start at $50, and additional digital file purchases start at $50.

BOOKING DETAILS: CONTRACTS, RELEASES & FEES 

If you’re ready to book a session with me, simply click the “Book Now” button and scroll until you find the session type you’d like to schedule. You’ll then complete the portrait agreement and model release and submit payment for your session fee retainer.

Once all three steps are completed, your session is officially booked and I’ll be in touch very soon to start planning the details!

 

SESSION FEE RETAINERS & CANCELLATIONS

If your session requires a non-refundable session fee retainer, it is due at the time of booking and contract signing. This retainer secures your scheduled session date and time and is not applied toward image purchases. It covers the cost of reserving your session, including the photographer’s professional expertise, travel to outdoor locations, use of studio props, professional editing and retouching, and online gallery delivery and ordering.

Some sessions—including the newborn mini, petite studio family experience, and pet sessions — are all-inclusive, with full payment due at booking.

Only the session fee retainer is required at the time of booking, depending on the session type. Image selections and orders are placed after your gallery is delivered and final images are chosen. No images will be released until all balances are paid in full.

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session in order to transfer the session fee retainer to a new date. If notice is not provided within this timeframe, or if the session is not rescheduled, a new session fee retainer will be required to book another session.

 

PRINTS, PRODUCTS & LABS

All prints and products are custom ordered from a professional lab to ensure consistent quality and accurate color. Gift prints, wall portraits, storyboards, and all photo-based products are printed on high-quality, professional linen-textured paper.

 

GALLERIES & DEADLINES

Online galleries remain active for 10 days. After this period, images are archived and a $75 gallery reopening fee will apply.

 

PRINTING RIGHTS, WHAT IS INCLUDED & WHAT IS NOT

With all high-resolution digital file purchases, you will also receive a print release and a web-sized & watermarked digital file of each ordered image, for web-sharing purposes.

No RAW or unedited images will be delivered in your final order. Only the purchased images in your Collection choice, the included images in your petite/family/studio/pet session, or additional purchased digital files will be delivered. 

 

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Gift Certificates are only available under certain conditions. Please contact me for details.

 

TAXES

A 5.5% WI sales tax will be added to all session fee retainer and orders.

At Leah Islinger Photography, my heart is rooted in the quiet, powerful beginning of a story — expecting parents and the arrival of new life. These sessions are a celebration of love, hope, and the moment a family is forever changed. There is nothing more profound than watching two people become a family, and it is an honor to preserve those fleeting, sacred moments before they slip away.

To create photographs that will one day be held, shared, and treasured across generations is a gift I never take lightly.

As my calendar allows, I also welcome maternity, baby milestone, senior, family, business, and pet sessions. Each one is approached with intention and care, capturing connection, personality, and the beautifully imperfect moments that make your story uniquely yours.
